This weekend, we went to a horse show at the stables where Maren takes her riding lessons. She loved watching all the "big girls".

And seeing the same ponies that she is learning to post and trot on do more advanced things, like canter and jump.

I loved watching these two.

But I have to admit, I still do a double take when I see Maren in a dress. There are less overalls and Thomas the Train T-shirts. More dresses or skirts, barrettes or braids. But she still loves a good pair of boots. 

And she really loves the horse she got for Christmas. What's his name? Spirit, of course. They cuddled and watched a movie together when we got home from the horse show.

We spent a lot of time outside this weekend - in the 85 degree "winter" weather.

Which means I did a lot of sitting in the shade and playing with Instagram - feeling too huge and hot to do much else! 

Here's an Instagram of my mudpie "birthday cake". I consider it a 'happy 35 weeks' cake - especially since I've had so many contractions since Christmas night that I was beginning to wonder if we'd make it this far.

And here's my absolute favorite Instagram of the weekend. Jake scored his first try (goal) at this weekend's rugby game. This is his "Zulu" (a "first try") stance. Be afraid...very afraid.

What could top off such a nice weekend? Jake and Maren thought cut up strawberries and homemade whipped cream would do the trick. I like the way they think...
